Was surprised to see one of the pineapple plants in the garden bearing fruit. In the past, it took a long time for this to happen, sometimes years even. So, it was a delight to see the cute little red fruit peeping out from the hardy, thorny leaves. Already it had triggered a dream of a sweet, big pineapple on the kitchen table. The last one was rather small; but it most certainly won't grow this big! :
