If you've grown a pineapple plant in your garden, you'd know that it takes ages for it to bear fruit. That, I read is because it takes 200 flowers to develop into one fruit; an arduous task; I'd say. A pineapple plant takes 16 to 24 months to bear fruit but I'm under the impression that the one in the garden took a longer time than that. When it finally bore fruit, I had it transferred to a sunnier place and was I surprised to find it ripened almost immediately! It was such a small pineapple and when cut, there were only four small slices to feed the entire family!
