A Yellow Lake

There was an ugly yellow film on the surface of some parts of the Lake Gardens. Used to seeing an algae bloom in a lake but normally, that would make a lake an ugly green. Some algae like the mustard algae however can be yellowish, yellow-green or brown in color. Perhaps, those were mustard algae in the Lake Gardens. Algae bloom could be caused by an abundance of nutrients in the water. Not sure if fertilizers were constantly used to keep the raintrees and other plants strong and healthy or the public has been overfeeding the fishes or turtles in the lake. But I did read that one way of stopping algae bloom is to keep the water moving. And I suppose there doens't have to involve installing fountains or aerators.

Yellow lake!
