A Mango Plant

Came across a little mango tree while taking a walk in the compound of a school and it was bearing fruits! Maybe, that should be called a mango plant rather than a tree. Mango, I used to hear is a native of India; so, it is not surprising that it has been made the  country's national fruit. A mango can usually grow up to 30 or 40 metres tall. Its taproot can descend to a depth of 6 m and its feeder roots and anchor roots are profuse and wide-spreading, often threatening the foundation of a house. Plant a mango tree in your garden at your own peril!
