Birds at the Lake

There are plenty of birds roaming free in the Lake Gardens these days; white birds with long necks and legs, cranes; I suppose. Could not remember seeing so many of them before; heard someone saying that they started to appear during the MCO when at the height of the Covid-19 pandemic, the public was prohibited from visiting the lake. Have thought that the birds were migratory birds which had decided to stay put; but then except for the Antarctica and South America, cranes can be found almost everywhere. Some species do migrate over long distances but there are species that do not migrate at  all. The birds at the lake must be of the second category.
