Animal Take : Tragedy Sensors

A video clip featuring howling dogs and flying birds was circulated shortly after the 7.8-magnitude earthquake shook Turkey and Syria. Claims of animals behaving strangely prior to earhquakes would go well with some researchers who say that animals are better equipped than humans to detect  even tiny foreshocks. Animals for all we know could be natural
tragedy sensors. Elephants have been reported to climb hills prior to floods and someone told me of her grandmother seeing a field of fluttering butterflies prior to the massacre of locals by Japanese soldiers during World War II.
