Taiping zoo is not just the only zoo in the northern part of Malaysia. Established in 1961, the zoo reputed to be the first and oldest in the country, boasts a total of 1300 animals representing 180 species of amphibians, mammals, and reptiles. Nevertheless, while there; one probably could not see all the animals. Some cages were empty when I visited. Some animals probably died or else they could be hiding somewhere in their cages. They probably couldn't be bothered if the visitors didn't see them. So was glad to spot some of these animals...
