Weevils, beetles and bugs are said to attack long beans. These insects munch away, creating holes on leaves and the beans themselves too, I suppose; but the long beans in the garden attracted another type of pests - little black ants. You'll see them trudging on the stems and leaves and then before you realise it, there will be a trail of black, slimy soil particles on the beans which even if you have scraped the soil off will render the beans scarred and unappealing. 😡
