The seeds that came in the mail sprung a surprise when they germinated and bore flowers. First, the flowers were of two colours, yellow and pink. To be exact, they were yellow first but turned pink later. Since the buds appeared and blossomed at different time, there were always both yellow and pink flowers at any given time. The colours were not very bright but they did remind of hibiscuses; just that they were not as attractive. Later, they would develop into acorn-like green capsules which turned brown and burst open when they dried up, revealing the white cotton inside. Lo, it was a cotton plant I had planted. What a surprise!
