Something about Locusts

Have seen locusts in swarms attacking crops in movies most notably in the 1977 American horror film Exorcist II: The Heretic. Locusts wreaking havoc in such a way isn't exactly something new; it has been known that such catastrophe has happened in ancient Egypt. Not in Southeast Asia though; and for some time, couldn't differentiate between a grasshopper from a locust; both looking alike even though the latter is supposed to have a smaller body as well as longer and stronger wings for long-distance flights. Locusts aren't always a threat to agriculture though. They can live a solitary life except when there is a period of drought followed by rapid vegetation when they start to breed abundantly.
