Pandanus amaryllifolius or pandan as it is commonly called, give us the daun pandan or pandan leaves which are used to flavour some of the food we have at home. Pandan is a green plant with long, narrow leaves that look like blades. The leaves are rather fragrant and the juice acquired from them, being fragrant and green; is used to colour and flavour food. Nowadays, bottled pandan extract is easily available in shops but I don't think it comes anything near the fresh pandan juice extracted from the plant.
