Flowers, the reproductive structures found in flowering plants; you got to admire them, pay tributes to them even. Young maidens get them on birthdays or special days like Valentines or anniversaries; and later when they get married and become mothers, they get more on Mother's Day. Men do get them too, I suppose; maybe on special days like Teacher's Day or Father's Day but maybe that would be considered a bit sissy; so, perhaps they could just be used to decorate their offices or if not, maybe they still get them during their funerals. Flowers are used during celebrations, religious or non religious and during Vesak, I like to snoop around the temples to admire these colourful structures. It is not just insects like bees and butterflies that are attracted to flowers, I suppose. Happy Vesak for those who are celebrating and for those of you who don't, have a pleasant day!
