The COVID-19 virus claims millions of lives; yet was surprised to read that Engelbert Humperdinck's wife passed away early this year because of the virus. Many probably remember the English pop singer with long sideburns and a long list of hits which include singles Release Me and The Last Waltz. Both topped the UK music charts in 1967. The Last Waltz, written by Barry Mason and Les Reed; sold over 1.17 million copies in the United Kingdom and stayed five weeks at number 1 on the UK Singles Chart. In the same year, Petula Clark rerecorded the ballad, Austrian singer Peter Alexander sang a German version Der letzte Walzer and Mireille Mathieu, a French version La Dernière Valse.
