Stocking up Vegetables

It is certainly possible to gather wild fruits and nuts from the jungle but it is difficult to imagine that humans who were formerly hunter-gatherers foraged for vegetables too. Some leaves of plants, stems, tubers and roots in the jungle are edible and count as vegetables; but many vegetables aren't really hardy and it really makes one wonder if the vegetables sold in the market were available to people living in the stone age. Modern people are a privileged lot indeed. We can just go to the wet market or shop in comfort in the supermarket for our vegetables. When the number of covid-19 infected cases rose to over 3000 and there was rumour of an impending movement control order, we even get to stock up some greens by making a phone call!
