I suppose I haven't seen live hares. Hares are said to have golden brown colour. Rabbits, the pair which I once kept were snow white but, in a hotel in Dongchuan, China, we were exploring the garden when we came to a section where vegetables were being planted and another where rabbits were reared. In the vegetable garden, I remember seeing a plant resembling the poppy Papaver somniferum.The man there gave some sunflower seeds to our friend who requested for some; and we found amusement feeding the rabbits which were white, grey and brown. I was wondering if the brown rabbits were hares but their ears didn't appear long enough and they didn't have the distinctive black tips. Now, I'm wondering if hares could be tamed.
