Langkawi Trip: In the Morning

In the morning when I woke up, it was cold and quiet. In Pulau Langkawi Island, we had stayed in a little village far away from town, somewhere near Mahsuri's grave. Mahsuri was a beauty, the heroine in the island's legend that has been handed down for generations; and she had, when her husband went to war, been falsely accused of adultery and put to death. The story goes that she bled white blood when executed and  before dying, had put a curse on the island. The place we stayed was said to be near her home. In the morning, I forgot the story of Mahsuri. I walked a little more than a hundred meters to the main road, crossed it and came to a beautiful, green paddy field. In the distance, there were blue mountains and the white cranes were already up and about. Nature is indeed mesmerizing!
