Hydrangeas maybe native to Asia and the Americas but it was in the South Island of New Zealand that I came across some impressive ones, blooming profusely and quite tall too. Of course, while most hydrangeas are shrubs ranging from 1 to 3 meters, others can grow into small trees, even growing to 30 m by climbing up trees. In Cameron Highlands recently, I came across a garden full of hydrangeas that reminded me of the hydrangeas in New Zealand.
