Rose Mallow

Rose mallow is by no means a rose. It is in fact a hibiscus belonging to the  genus of flowering plants in the mallow family, Malvaceae. I remember a neighbour used to plant many in his backyard so much so that I got tired of their big showy red flowers. Hibiscus flowers, however, are not all red. They can come in many colours and why not? There are actually several hundred species of the flower and they come from a wide area, from the warm temperate to  subtropical and tropical regions throughout the world. Feast your eyes on the Rose mallow!
