I've always thought that orchids are natives of tropical forests but really, they are more widespread than I presume. The epiphytes are not only found in tropical and subtropical areas, growing on trees and shrubs, on rocks or rocky soil but in the temperate countries, they grow on grasslands, too.In Taiping, the people are fortunate to get to see orchids being exhibited in a fair each year and these are mostly hybrids with big, beautiful, bright colours...
