I am really a vegetable! It probably is okay if'' vegetable' means the edible part of a plant. If it means one who is severely impaired mentally and physically, as by brain injury or disease or one who is regarded as dull, passive, or unresponsive, then there is reason for concern! You wouldn't want to be a vegetable, would you?
