When we were at the Lake Gardens in Taiping, a friend suddenly spotted a bird. I couldn't see the bird immediately and wasn't really excited until I realised that it was a hornbill. The hornbill is a big bird. Its bill itself is an attraction and I read that unlike other birds, the atlas and axis which are the the first and second vetebrae of the neck are fused, thus allowing it to support a big bill. The hornbill we saw had a yellow bill. Once, a bird watcher told me there was a hornbill with a red bill which made a very loud noise nearby
Have a clearer view of the bird!
