Who was the original singer of the classic song The Wedding? Not the British singer Julie Rogers who only recorded the song in 1964 and outsold Anita Bryant's and Malcolm Vaughan's versions who recorded the song three years earlier. The latter two singers were however not the original singers either. The wedding was originally called La novia. The spanish song was written by Chilean songwriter Joaquín Prieto in 1960. His brother Antonio Prieto recorded it in Mexico in 1961 and it became an instant hit in South America and Europe.
