Would you believe it if someone tells you that some characters in a cartoon series sang a song that went up the charts? In 1969, there supposedly was just this song that made it to the No. 1 spot in the US on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and the UK Singles chart performed by Archies, a fictional American band who appeared in the animated TV series The Archie Show. In the series, Archie Andrews founded the band with members bassist Reggie Mantle, drummer Forsythe Jughead Jones, keyboardist Veronica Lodge and percussionist Betty Cooper. Archie himself plays the guitar. A group of studio musicians of course provided the voices.
