Even before the year of the Tiger arrived, the tigers were already hot in the local news .The director of Forestry Department in a Malaysian state claims that logging is actually good for the tigers as the clearing of forests leads to growth of new plants and saplings, which In turn attracts little animals like deer. That logging is good for tigers is said to be backed by the finding of wildlife experts who based on the number of sightings of tigers in selectively logged areas, concluded that the population density of tigers was 30% higher than the highest estimate stated in an earlier study conducted at a protected forest.
