Movie Talk: Frozen 2

Frozen 2, the current  American 3D computer-animated musical fantasy film produced by Walt Disney, according to a review in a local paper, is better than its 2013 predecessor. The animation is great no doubt; but though Josh Gad who plays Olaf, the snow man said that the songs in the sequel will be better and catchier, I do miss the songs Do You Want to Build a Snowman? and Let it go terribly. While the directors, Chris Buck and Jennifer Lee, furfill their promise to answer the questions said to be left open by the original film like Why does Elsa and not Anna who was born with magical powers etc; somehow, there is no sense of urgency for knowing the reason. In fact, now that Elsa is capable of controlling her power, there is no more fear of her hurting her sister and there seems to be a loss of excitement and magic that is in Frozen 1. Then, the introduction of new characters like the fire spirit in the form of a magical salamander, the giant earth spirits or Nøkk, the water spirit does not really make up for the absence of the scheming Duke of Weselton and the dashing Prince Hans of the Southern Isles, with whom Anna falls in love with in the first film. It's a nice film to watch nevertheless; the film having gathered good reviews, grossed $919 million worldwide, and had been  the highest all-time worldwide opening for an animated film; but I really can't see or feel the heart and spirit of the original film.
