A Picturesque Lake

Imagine using an old guide book to travel! The presenter of BBC popular documentary series Great British Railway Journeys, Michael Portillo does just that. In fact, he travels round by train using Bradshaw's Guide which was a series of railway timetables and travel guide books initiated by George Bradshaw in 1839, exploring how society and industry have changed since the guide was first published, visiting the local landmarks, meeting local residents, enjoying local food, and even trying his hand at local crafts. Lately, there was much excitement when the TV presenter came to town. Of course, Taiping should be a place of interest to him since  the British, when they were occupying the country built the first railway line here; from Kuala Sepetang to Taiping to be exact. While here, he of course, visited Taiping's picturesque Lake Gardens which yours truly proudly presents here...
