Mulbery Plant in the Garden

Silkworms reportedly can only survive on mulberry leaves. In ancient times, the Chinese produced silk using silkworms; so, I suppose there are plenty of mulbery plants there. Known scientifically as Morus, the plants grow in the wild in temperate countries but not so sure if they do so in the tropics. In fact, didn't know that they could survive here in hot, hot Malaysia until someone gave me cuttings of the plants. The plant in the garden has bore fruits for some time now and besides eating the fruits as they are, my niece made jam out of them and add them to yogurts too. It feels good to know that the fruits contain antioxidants that help lower the risk for heart disease and  have plenty of iron, calcium and protein too, making them a great snack for post-workout. Grow one in your garden, won't you?
