Animal Talk: Little Dolphin Passing

In the Buddhist text, it is stated that if a person were to carry his father on his left shoulder and his mother on his right shoulder and then to circumambulate Mount  Sumeru, he would still not have repaid the kindness of his parents. You'd not think a person would do just that - carry his parents round even in the vicinity of his own house. That's especially when in a boating accident in Dianbu River in China's Anhui province, a 28-year-old man chose to save his wife from drowning first over his 52- year-old  mum. In another part of China, in Sanniang Bay, off Qinzhou City in Southern China, strangely, a dolphin was spotted carrying its calf on its back. The little dolphin had gashes across its belly and was believed to have been dead for two or three days. Animal a dolphin may be, but it would have you believe in the kindness of parents. Mount Sumeru, by the way is the name of the central world-mountain in Buddhist cosmology often used as a simile for size and stability in Buddhist texts. For more of Buddhism, visit Dhamma Delights!
