Green trees most probably are caused by the opportunistic green moss growing on the tree trunks. The moss thrives in low-light, moist environment but if you don't like them, never mind - you can spray the tree trunk with high-pressure water from a hose and faucet or simply rake them away since the moss has a shallow and thin root system.
