Clue: I just read somewhere that the Portuguese took this to Europe. Originating either in
India, Vietnam or southern China, it could be sweet or bitter. Citrus sinensis is sweet while Citrus aurantium is bitter . The English name is derived from the Sanskrit naranga-s and in Dutch , it is called Sinaasappel which means China's apple. It's a fruit all right and is rich in vitamin C.
