Movie Talk : Smallfoot

My six-year-old grandnephew had wanted to watch the American 3D computer-animated comedy adventure film Smallfoot. His mom had just treated us to Rowan Atkinson's Johnny English Strikes Again. We were getting the tickets when he saw the poster and told me of his preference. So, there we were at Taiping Mall the next day at three in the afternoon to get tickets for two. There was a queue, not very long, but it caused us to be a bit late. The film had already started but it didn't spoil the fun we had. Smallfoot which tells the story of Migo, a Yeti who discovers a  human, was a delight to watch. Yeti, of course, is a mythical being said to inhabit the Himalayan region of Nepal, Bhutan, and Tibet; and is popularly known as Bigfoot. I thought it was clever to come out with the idea of the yeti labelling human Smallfoot. Highlights of the movie probably come at the end of the story when Meechee, the female yeti and Migo's love interest explore a human city. The city seems to be mainly inhabited by Asians and the buildings are Chinese influenced. It was a night scene and with the lights of the buildings and the streets on, it presents a dazzling sight. Great movie for kids and the young at hearts!
