Do I remind you of 'The Blob'?

'The Blob' is a 1958 independent science fiction film about an amoeba-like alien from outer space. 'The King of Cool' , the late Steve McQueen, star of such films as The Thomas Crown Affair, Bullitt, The Getaway, Papillon, The Magnificent Seven, The Great Escape, and The Towering Inferno had a debut leading role in this movie.

It's here somewhere!

Does this remind you of the English idiom, 'needle in the haystack' ? 'Needle in the haystack' suggests something that is difficult or impossible to locate.

Plant Talk: Religious Talk

Image
What's the religion of a tomato? Long ago, in a legend of Facebook, it is said that the tomato is a Christian! Proof: Cut it in half, and you'd see it wearing a cross! The tomato which I ate are mostly atheist, I suppose since they don't wear anything in particular, except a smirk when you cut them . An atheist is one who denies the existence of God or Gods. They don't have qualms about eating anything! Do you?

I am really a vegetable!

I am really a vegetable!

It probably is okay if'' vegetable' means the edible part of a plant. If it means one who is severely impaired mentally and physically, as by brain injury or disease or one who is regarded as dull, passive, or unresponsive, then there is reason for concern! You wouldn't want to be a vegetable, would you?

Animal Talk: Swan Story

Image
Probably, I have seen swans in London many years back but just did not know then that they belong to Queen Elizabeth II. Just found out about it from a report in the Internet. It seems that the carcass of  a swan had been butchered, burnt and stripped of its flesh and was dumped on a riverbank near the Queen's favourite weekend home, Windsor Castle. The act was said to be an offence as all the wild mute swans in Britain are said to be the property of the crown. The offender had reportedly taken the breast out of the poor swan and an animal charity worker Wendy Hermon said she had felt sick when she saw it. How can someone do that and leave it where they did? She had asked. She probably would get sick too if she had seen what people do to chickens and ducks, turkeys, pigs and cows too in order to feed the human population!

Don't bug me!

Don't bug me!

A bug is an insect and an insect sometimes bugs, that is, it irritates especially when it lays there on your nose and makes you squirm . So, bug off, won't you, insect?

Don't make me blush!

Don't make me blush!

When you blush, your face turns red and that could be because you are embarrassed or you are undergoing an emotional stress. If the redness persists for a period longer than usual, that probably could be a sign of idiopathic craniofacial erythema. That is a medical condition where a person blushes strongly with little or no provocation. Now, just watch me blush!

I am all dolled up!

I am all dolled up!

A salad, you'd think could stand up on its own. Why on earth is it served with a sauce or dressing  which includes oil and even an acid?

I am the Greatest!

I am the Greatest!

Who is the greatest? Definitely not the one who floats like a butterfly and sting like a bee! If you remember, the former American professional, Muhammad Ali who became the first and only three-time lineal World Heavyweight Champion, just like any other normal man, could not escape the clutch of diseases. In 1984, the man who proclaimed himself the greatest but not the smartest, was diagnosed with Parkinson's syndrome. As a bearer of the Olympic Flag during the opening ceremonies of the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, he was unable to carry the flag into the stadium and had to be helped to his feet by his wife Lonnie.
