'To sit on something' means 'to hold for an extended period of time' but it is said that this is also Fonz's version of 'piss off'' or 'screw you'. The Fonz or Fonzie, by the way is a fictional character played by Henry Winkler in the American sitcom 'Happy Days' which ran from 1974 to 1984.

What is interesting -the animals (at least those I could observe) never are disturbed that someone sits on their heads. At the difference of humans.
They don't get humiliated easily, I think.
